Just about a year ago, we had a musical battle between two of the finest rappers we have in Ghana (Sarkodie and M.anifest).
The ‘beef’ as we term it trended for weeks on social media and on our various electronic mediums.
M.anifest attacked Sarkodie with God MC one of the rapper’s finest art in his music career,he replied Sarkodie’s Bossy track where Sarkodie mentioned M.anifest’s name (not in a bad note though) but M.anifest who was obviously not pleased with the mention blasted Sarkodie with God MC. Telling Sarkodie not to mention his name in vain.
Sarkodie fumed at M.anifest’s response and released ‘Kanta’, a diss song which had Designer’s Panda instrumentals and the rest was history.
It has been over a year since we had this great beef which will forever go down in archives of history as one of the finest beefs the nation has experienced.
I happen to chance upon an amazing banter on facebook.com between Kwame Nzyme a fan of Sarkodie and Kwame Phody who we believe to be an aficiando of M.anifest throwing and exchanging lyrics from Kanta and God MC in an exciting way.
The little banter began when Kwame Nzyme posted on his timeline a line from Sarkodie’s Kanta verse. ”I know you dey aim for my spot but you think my position be cheap?” and Kwame Phody reiterated. It was crazy fun.
