The tussle, worry, despair, and astonishment that befell the Ghana Music Industry as Nigerian fans and audience disgraced Ghanaian artists on the 24th August this year has evoked some sort of urgency among many Ghanaian music lovers to support our local artists among many other concerns.
An event dubbed “Invasion Concert” held in Naija prior to the launch of Zylofon Media and Menzgold saw Ghanaian performances receiving no or little engagements from the Nigerian audience.
A lot of Music Industry Gurus in Ghana believe the action of the Nigerian audience was deliberate just to belittle our stars while the other section of opinions suggests that our music industry might be having deeper issues which need fixing among other varying concerns.
Amidst all these, the Public Relations Manager Samuel Atuobi Baah popularly known as Sammy Flex has finally spoken on the Nigerian experience and suggest we all come together to settle the score and bring opinions on the table to determine the source of the problem if there’s any and look for a way forward on Showbiz Agenda come this Monday.
He wrote: “Several discussions are on going with regards to our Mega opening of Zylofon Media and MenzGold in Nigeria at Eko Convention center. Some are angry, others are happy with differing opinions about our music in Ghana and our musicians. I arrived in Ghana today and decided to see the Glo event at the Fantasy Dome at Trade Fair for an objective review of our show in Nigeria. Enough points gathered and with input from some industry giants, we will have a healthy discussion on the issue of Support and international appeal on Monday live on Zylofon 102.1FM’s Showbiz Agenda. This is an open call for our industry people to be part of this conversation as we look for solutions to this problem. Please contact my able producer Nii Ashley if you want to be part of the discussion please. Thanks to Nana Appiah Mensah for his vision and agenda of cultural imposition. #Zylofonmedia #MenzGold”
